This is actually a slashed short story that I read as a kid. The original was titled, "The Moon Maiden" from ''Shen of the Sea'', a compilation of Chinese folktales and published in 1926. After finding the book again and doing a little research, it turns out the stories are 'Chinese-themed' and the author was an American dude who I'm pretty sure has never been to China. In any case, the story has stayed with me for a long time, because I'm a sucker for tragic but still happy romance stories. This is actually a slashed version of a short story that I read as a kid. Then maybe by rediscovering ancient technology from Yueye's people or by making another deal with the demonness, they get back. Or maybe they found no need to return and reclaimed Yueye's kingdom on Earth. Nevertheless, they live happily ever after.
