Author's Notes
Sorry it took me ten years to get around to writing this, dudes. I always meant to keep going after Strays, I just never thought it would take so long.
The original outline had a separate subplot from Simenon's POV that I had started writing after Strays, but I could never get it to work. It was just too heavy-handed and self-indulgent (there was an extended dream sequence, I swear to god what is wrong with my brain), but as soon as I realised I had to cut that for the story to work, it was like a dam burst. I wrote it all in a Saturday evening.
