Summary
I have no intention of explaining how I received these documents, but I felt compelled to preserve them in a digital format and I thought they might be of interest to you. It's so rare to find clear accounts of anyone interacting with fair folk in modern times, let alone accounts from the fair folk themselves! I hope my descriptions of the items will serve in lieu of photographs, as the digital ones I attempted to take seem to have all been deleted or corrupted somehow. When I get the time, I'll attempt to find an analogue camera and see if it produces more stable results.
Until then, I am (as ever) yours,
Togi Kayako
Author's Notes
Both the title and Artemisia's name (genus of Wormwood) are a nod to Wormwood from The Screwtape Letters, which was my first thought when epistolary stories came up. I named the other characters via the connection to absinthe. Nella is from pimpinella, the genus of anise, though I wouldn't give her anything that awful as an actual name. Flora is short for Florence, which is a common fennel cultivar.
She is the human half of a changeling swap, and was raised in the fae realm. While I don't know an exact age, she's certainly older than she looks. Settling down in a quaint little human village to be boring and responsible was probably a rebellious act for her.
