Mike Dies at the End is a story written by shukyou and illustrated by sairobi. It ran in Issue 12 and can be found at s2b2.livejournal.com/61440.html and shousetsubangbang.com/mirror/mike-dies-at-the-end/.
Summary
Two friends go into a house with a third man to investigate strange happenings. RealDolls are involved.
Solving the following riddle will reveal the awful secret behind the universe, assuming you do not go utterly mad in the attempt. If you already happen to know the awful secret behind the universe, feel free to skip ahead.
From the Slash Pile: " Time travel and psychics collide. Oh yeah, and Mike dies at the end."
From isweedan.livejournal.com: "Retelling of a book by David Wong now with added m/m! Psychic who solves paranormal problems with his bff/fuckbuddy gets call from cute gothy dude about Seriously Weird Stuff happening at local hunted house. Things happen and it is VERY EXCITING!"
Connections
Mike Dies at the End is a tongue-in-cheek homage to John Dies at the End, though the similarities are largely in the title, the first paragraph (which is, word for word, the same as the first paragraph of John Dies at the End), and the setup of two male friends who are able to see the hidden supernatural world. Oh, and the puns. There are some puns.
Mike Dies at the End is a direct prequel to This Story Is Full of Scorpions: Seriously, Dude, Don't Read It.

This is my favorite s2b2 story. What's not to love? There's a snarky narrator, dangerous and creepy sex toys, linguistics, the worst use of Schroedinger's Cat ever, and the author manages to pull off the have-sex-or-die plot. It's crazy and sexy and funny and short enough that you won't lose much time ... until you decide to reread it.
