Ever a Surprise is a story written by Okō. It ran in Issue 80 at http://www.shousetsubangbang.com/mirror/ever-a-surprise.
Summary
A college dance blind date goes unexpectedly well despite a rather rocky personal history between lighting-tech and humanities major Stephanie and her freshman-year rival, legacy hockey-player Lynette.
Author's Notes
This initially dropped into my head starring Isabell, from my hockey boys stories, but I had written myself into a corner for her backstory. Instead I pulled from musical theater, medical detail, and memories of friends' hilariously terrible blind dates and Frankensteined it all together.
