When I read this story from S2B2 32, I just had to be sure that you all read it too. It is beautifully written and, though I am not a fan of fantasy tales, I fell for this one. If I tell you about it, I'm afraid I will spoil it. Doesn't that opening just draw you in...make you want to find out what the heck is going on? Oh, and the illustration has spoilers, so they have kindly made viewing optional. Go! Go on! Read it!

  • shadow-birds.tumblr.com: "FUCKING VICTORIAN MAGICIAN BOYFRIENDS. It’s one of those stories that’s haunting and reads like a song okay they’re my precious little whiteys."
  • pinboard.in: "Beautifully atmospheric and bittersweet story about a magician's pupil. Very reminiscent of Jonathan Strange & Mr Norell and drawing on fairytale traditions."
