Through The Woods, Homewards
Through The Woods, Homewards by Kit Miller first appeared in issue Issue 111 in 2024.
Summary
Reinhardt tries to make it home before the Wild Hunt catches him.
Author's Notes
The wild hunters are an eclectic medley of references to all sorts of deities, spirits, and heroes of the Hunt, the Wild, the Forest and all those things from all sorts of European mythologies. Herne himself is an amalgamation of the actual mythological Herne – what little we know of him – and Odin/Oðinn/Wotan, who is usually the actual leader of the Wild Hunt. I also may or may not have been a little bit inspired by the Dread Pirate Roberts. Reinhardt is named after the fox.
Content Notes
Opens with a fox getting shot dead, and depicts fear of the dark and the beginnings of a panic attack.
