Author's Notes

My idea for this was, verbatim, "Fake CYOA, double second person". I'd intended it to be darker and along more of a generic "evil entity summoned by the book eats you" vein. It went in a different direction when I got into the first draft and skewed even further when my partner read that and responded, "Cursed book says self care!" I expanded the story and rewrote two of the scenes with that rattling around in my head. It's probably the oddest thing I've written, but I couldn't be happier with how it came out.
