Author's Notes

If you've ever played Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask, you understand exactly what I'm doing here. If you've ever played ANY Professor Layton game, you understand why the setting is sort of vague and ahistorical. And if you haven't ... well, that's the direction I'm coming from, anyway: vague and ahistorical. I let the fact that magic exists in this world absolve me from the need for too much absolute accuracy.

The story was originally supposed to run in Issue 81, until it obviously spiralled completely out of control, blowing up to double the size for a regular issue. Fortunately, December wasn't far off.

The title is a line from "Ghazal" by Agha Shahid Ali, though the pronouns have been changed to more accurately reflect the contents of this particular story.

In conclusion, threesomes and polyamory!
